The Virginian Dragster

This page is devoted to our friend and racing legend "Pee Wee" Wallace and his dragster "The Virginian III"

The Virginian III is an orange and white 1965 Plymouth Belvedere Super Stock Funny Car once driven by racing legend "Pee Wee" Wallace. It is a 750 horse-power hilborn injected hemi with an altered wheel base.

During the 60's and 70's Pee Wee Wallace traveled the drag racing circuit. He bacame a celebrity with his show of speed, wheel stands, and screeching starts. He was in the Nationals in '65, '66, '74, '75, & '76 and was an NHRA champion 3 years in a row. Pee Wee was inducted into the East Coast Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2002.

Drag racing legend "Pee Wee" Wallace, 79, crossed his final finish line Saturday, January 29, 2011. Born and raised in Chase City, Va., he was a kind-hearted man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Pee Wee leaves behind a great number of friends and family to cherish the full life he led. Pee Wee was retired from Richmond Honda where he was Service Manager for 22 years. During the '60s and '70s Pee Wee traveled the drag racing circuit. He became a celebrity with his show of speed, wheel stands, and screeching starts. During his 25-year racing career, he had numerous victories including the NHRA Division 1 Championship which he achieved three years in a row. Pee Wee was inducted into the NHRA Hall of Fame in 1980 and into the East Coast Racing Hall of Fame in 2001.
